Torpedoed ship "Somali" explodes offshore between Seahouses and Beadnell during World War 2.

Windows were blown out on shore, and Seahouses and Boulmer Lifeboats which were alongside, escaped miraculously with some damage but no serious injury.

Yacht "Baltika", aground at Holy Island in thick fog,under pw back to Seahouses. Another yacht follows to safety. 31/7/99.

Coaster "Rosebank" on fire approx 10 miles south east of Seahouses on 14/12/01.

The crew were uplifted by RAF Helicopter (pilot given bravery award), minutes before lifeboat reached the scene. Lifeboat maintained a safety cordon till arrival of the Royal Navy - cargo of fertiliser dangerous with explosion risk.

Yacht "Erythesia" aground near Holy Island in thick fog on 12/8/03. The vessel was valued at £850,000.

In appreciation for this service, the skipper donated a weather station to Seahouses Lifeboat.

A small disorientated porpoise is helped from Seahouses Harbour by the ILB crew on Fete Day 2002.

Diver reported missing at Somali wreck site off Beadnell, 11.31hr, Sunday 19th May 08.

Seahouses Lifeboats, Craster Lifeboat, Boulmer non RNLI Rescue Boat, RAF Helicopter and local boats search fro missing diver from wreck of the Somali, between Seahouses and Beadnell. The missing man was not found that day, but was recovered 3 weeks later by police divers. Photo shows police launch "Northumbria" and other search boats.

Medical Training Exercise 0n Thurs 7 Aug, 2008.

As the Seahouses Crew concluded their RNLI Maritime First Aid Course, a MEDEX or Medical Exercise was held. To add to the realism, the crew put to see in quite rough conditions (Force 6 SE) and landed on Brownsman Island to carry out their "practical" assessment at the end of their course. They all passed with flying colours !
