DIVER REPORTED IN TROUBLE OFF BEADNELL
At 12.22hr on Monday 13th June 2011, Humber Coastguard requested the launch of both Seahouses Lifeboats, to go to the assistance of a diver in the water off Lady’s Hole at Beadnell. A person on shore reported the diver signaling for assistance.
The Inshore and All Weather Lifeboats were quickly launched, and underway to Beadnell, in choppy sea conditions. On arrival of the Lifeboats at the scene, it was found that the diver had managed to reach the shore unaided, although he was complaining of being exhausted. On the shore, he was met by Local Coastguard Rescue Officers, who checked in case he required medical assistance, which he did not. Once confirmed that the diver was safe, both lifeboats returned to station.
