Seahouses RNLI Lifeboat Station

Seahouses finally has its new Lifeboat, and very sleek she is too !

The RNLI tradition was once again upheld on Sunday 18 October 2020 at 13.36hr (new lifeboat hull number), when the Seahouses Mersey Lifeboat RNLB Grace Darling, escorted her successor Shannon Class Lifeboat RNLB John and Elizabeth Allan into her new harbour home. Berwick upon Tweed Lifeboat also joined us for the escort, as did Craster Inshore Lifeboat, which escorted our new boat past Craster to Beadnell. A big thanks to them. This was the last leg of a long passage by the Seahouses Crew under command of Coxswain/Mechanic Craig Pringle, from the RNLI All Weather Lifeboat Centre at Poole, calling at Newhaven, Lowestoft, Scarborough and Amble. NB this event had to be kept low key to avoid attracting crowds who could breach Covid-19 regulations, but there was still a sizeable welcoming crowd, who applauded the arrival. A very proud day for Seahouses and our Lifeboat Station.
